I returned to the US after a decade in China and built valuable skills in strategic development and corporate technology.
Partnered with IT experts in a technical role at a publicly traded company to upgrade hardware infrastructure and virtual environments. Led company-wide technical change management as a consequence of a divestment.Responsibilities evolved to include presenting projects to executive leadership; working on various cybersecurity projects; designing a series of technical workshops and trainings; managing servers and troubleshooting errors; and supporting critical technical divestment projects in collaboration with cross functional, non-technical stakeholders.
Partnered with international subject matter experts at a publicly traded company to manage risk and global security programs affecting the safety of people and critical infrastructure.Worked on several globally consequential assignments, including analyzing global security risks; initiating global travel risk management maturity per ISO 31030 standards; standardizing processes for evaluating and defining travel risk; engaging travel risk audit vendor solutions; collecting, interpreting, and presenting global site incident data trends to leadership; assisting with the implementation of a new global emergency notification system; and participating in several nation-wide crisis management exercises.
Partnered with the CEO and school district leadership to strategically strengthen school board and advisory committee leadership, advanced growth projects, analyzed and built sustainable fundraising channels, fostered corporate and non-profit relationships, built and maintained government and university partnerships, mitigated risk and matured district-wide emergency planning as the District Emergency Management Coordinator, and managed some public communication.Helped raise $6 million for programs, salaries, and capital projects.
Houston Foreign Consultancy
Built a tutoring business in 2010 for students and business leaders across Shenzhen, China. Later launched a customer-facing consultancy for high-net-worth clients for overseas studies and university entry exams.Leveraged this consultancy to work with a group of e-commerce executives as their consultant for an online gaming company, recruited foreign workers, negotiated employee contracts, and managed marketing and customer service to English and Spanish-speaking clients. Additionally, negotiated deals with local manufacturers to produce, ship, and market products to the US.
Recruited by a premier international school to manage more than 40 diverse international staff, act as a college advisor to VIP students, teach Economics, and assist the CEO with international partnerships.Navigated a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with diverse international employees. Responsibilities evolved to include working in direct support of the founder and CEO to locate, negotiate, and translate conditions for partnerships and acquisitions worth millions of dollars. Traveled across the US with executive leadership to analyze several prospective partnerships, make recommendations, and lead negotiations of several important deals.
Ushered the expansion of an international middle school in its first year, helping to double enrollment in year two.Responsible for the development of programs and enrollment, management of local and foreign staff, teaching, and public lectures. Led the middle school through rapid expansion; taught Algebra, Economics, and other subjects; gave open lectures in Chinese at recruiting events; and worked closely with the Marketing department to boost exposure to our target demographic.
As a Legislative Aide to an elected official, worked closely with constituents to understand their concerns and convey their requests to the Representative.I was also responsible for legislative research, reports, select communication efforts, and the introduction of legislative proposals on behalf of the Representative.

An experienced, internationally tested technical business leader with nearly a decade overseas as an entrepreneur, manager, and educator. Much of my professional career was established in rapidly changing China – building businesses, leading people, traveling, and learning.I hold a BA in Government with a minor in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, a Business degree in Cybersecurity from the University of Texas at San Antonio, a certificate in Cybersecurity-AI from Purdue Northwest, and a certificate in Advanced Business Chinese from Shenzhen University. I also actively hold a handful of technical certifications.Many of my positions have been close to executive leaders supporting growth initiatives. Co-workers have almost always valued my work ethic, willingness to take on projects, and ability to effectively communicate.

I have been thoroughly challenged in several high-stress environments. I spent nearly all my 20s living in a fast-paced, competitive Chinese city where I built and maintained a successful business from scratch. Success required working seven days a week, fostering relationships, consistently proving my value to clients, and navigating a foreign business environment.In addition to my entrepreneurial work, I led dozens of international staff -- a tremendously challenging time. While leading people of various age groups, experiences, and levels of maturity, I worked on several multi-million dollar partnerships and acquisitions under the authority of the CEO of an international school.After returning to the US, I worked on fundraising and other development projects under the CEO of a fast-growing public charter school for over two years.While working, I returned to school to pursue a technical business degree. I studied a coding, technology, and business. I have continued to build on those skills as evidenced by my certifications, education, and work experience.
